Quick 2011 Swimsuit Contest
REVISED OFFICIAL RULES
The Contest is open to legal residents of the State of Texas who are eighteen (18) years or older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law. Employees, temporary employees, independent contractors and interns of The Dallas Morning News, Quick, (hereinafter “Sponsor”) A. H. Belo Corporation, UPICKEM (“Administrator), and each of their respective subsidiaries, parents, partners, other Contest sponsors, advertising and promotional agencies (hereinafter "Contest Providers") and the immediate family members of each, and any persons living with, any such employees are not eligible to enter or win prizes. The term “immediate family members” includes spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren.

HOW TO ENTER: You may enter online at www.quickdfw.com/2011swimsuitcontest, sign in and click the Submit a Photo button and follow instructions and click submit to enter. Photos may be in black and white or color. All digital entries should be at the highest resolution possible up to and including 2000 pixels along longest edge. Contest Providers will accept the formats of jpeg and tiff. Entries will not be accepted via email. The official method of entry will be through the HYPERLINK "http://www.quickdfw.com/2011swimsuitcontest" www.quickdfw.com/2011swimsuitcontest site.
Photos will be eliminated if they are not within the theme of the Contest or if they are in violation of Contest rules or quickdfw.com terms and conditions. EACH PHOTO SUBMISSION MUST BE AN AUTHENTIC, ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH TAKEN BY CONTESTANT, AND THE CONTESTANT MUST OWN THE COPYRIGHT IN THE PHOTOGRAPH SUBMITTED. One entry per household.
DEADLINES: Contest deadlines are as follows:
Entry Period starts at 8:00 a.m. CST on Thursday, May 5, 2011 and ends at 11:59 p.m. CST on Friday, June 3, 2011.
Judging and Finalist Selection will take place between Tuesday, June 6, 2011 and June 10, 2011.
On-line voting starts at 8:00 a.m. CST on Thursday, June 16, 2011 and ends at 11:59 p.m. CST on Friday, July 1, 2011. One vote per day.
Winner announced on the cover of the July 14, 2011 issue of Quick:
No submissions will be accepted after each deadline identified above for any reason. Administrator's computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest. Participants entering close to the posted deadline do so with this information in mind.
No responsibility is assumed by Sponsor or Administrator for lost, late, misdirected, or illegible entries or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur. Entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet Access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. All entries become the property of Sponsors. One entry by the same person per day, including those made electronically by one person using one or more e-mail accounts, will result in disqualification. All e-mail entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified with a natural person by appropriate independent means, including, without limitation, reverse domain name search. Potential winners may be requested to provide Sponsor and Administrator with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry.
FINALIST SELECTION: A panel of judges representing Quick will review and select twenty (20) finalists – ten (10) male and ten (10) female - based on the most appealing photos in swimsuits from all qualified entries received by the entry deadline (see Deadlines above). Decisions of the judges shall be final in all respects.
WINNER SELECTION: The two (2) finalists – one (1) male and one (1) female – with the most votes at the end of the voting period will be declared the Winners. In the event of a tie, a random drawing between the tied entries will determine the winner. The winner(s) must be available to participate in a photo shoot between July 5, 2011 and July 10, 2011, in order to accept and execute the prize. Travel expenses will not be provided. If a potential winner cannot be available, the entry with the next highest number of votes will be declared the winner. The decision of the Contest Providers shall be final in all respects.
ODDS OF WINNING: Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
PRIZES:
The Winner (one woman, one man) will receive their photo on the cover of a July issue of Quick. No retail value. The winner will also receive a $500 Visa gift card.
Prize is non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash; substitutions may not be requested. By participating in the Contest and accepting a prize, participants and winner will be deemed to agree to these Rules. Winner is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local income and any other taxes, fees and surcharges. An IRS Form 1099 will be issued for all prizes with a retail value in excess of $600. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
USE OF CONTEST INFORMATION: By entering the contest, contestants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Entry constitutes permission to use the contestant’s biographical information, name, picture, and likeness for purposes of trade, publicity and promotion for no additional compensation (except where prohibited by law). Notwithstanding any contrary provision in any Contest Provider's or Administrator's respective privacy policies, Contestants grant to Contest Providers, and Contest Providers reserve, the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information provided by Contestants in connection with the Contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law. Contestants may be required to sign a release, which grants to Contest Providers the right to use and publish their proper name and state of residence online or in any other media in connection with the Contest. By accepting a prize, winner(s) may be required to sign a release that grants permission to Contest Providers to use his or her name, photograph, likeness, voice, prize information and/or biographical information for publicity and promotional purposes without future compensation unless prohibited by law. By receipt of any prize, winner agrees to release and hold harmless Contest Providers, Administrators, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.
CONDUCT: By entering the Contest, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules. The Official Rules will be posted at www.quickdfw.com throughout the Contest. Sponsors reserve the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Web site; or to be acting in violation of the Official Rules. You agree that in your participation in the Contest you will not use obscene, libelous or slanderous language, or language that infringes upon a third party's trademark, trade name or other intellectual property right or right of privacy. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Contest Providers and Administrator and each of their respective subsidiaries, parents, partners, or other Contest sponsors, officers, consultants, agents, and employees against and from all claims, damages liabilities, costs and expenses asserted by third parties alleging that the Contest includes obscenity, libel, slander, or infringes upon the third party's intellectual property or privacy rights, as a direct result of your actions in connection with the Contest. You further agree to not knowingly damage or cause interruption of the Contest or to prevent others' participation in the Contest. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE BELO WEB SITES OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, CONTEST PROVIDERS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Winners assume liability for losses or injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participating in the Contest, or by the acceptance, possession, use of, or failure to receive any prize. The Released Parties are not responsible for (i) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (ii) any lost, late, illegible, or incomplete entries; or (iii) for any technical or human error that may occur in the processing of submissions in the Contest. Sponsors and Administrator assume no responsibility for an error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction of authorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsors and Administrator are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of e-mail or players on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site or combination thereof, including injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in the Contest. If the Contest is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including legal restrictions, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Sponsors or Administrator that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Sponsors reserve the right to cancel, modify or suspend the Contest.
PRIVACY: Information collected from entrants is subject to Sponsor's privacy policy and UPICKEM's privacy policy.
RULES / WINNERS LIST: Official Rules and the names of the winners may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped #10 envelope to: Quick – Quick 2011 Swimsuit Contest, 508 Young Street, Dallas, TX 75202. Indicate "Quick 2011 Swimsuit Contest Rules Request" on the outside of the envelope as applicable. Limit one (1) request per envelope. The request must include the name of the Contest. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted material or trademarks without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: This Contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.
